Canvas was launched on 22nd February 2007 and is still going strong with an event being held on the 3rd Thursday of every month. The night aims to give a platform to local musicians, film-makers, djs, artists, photographers..basically anyone creative in Liverpool. We have had some incredible acts play since the launch and have had some great films and visuals too. The events are relaxed and social, and best of all they’re free!

Canvas is organised by these three chaps, Rich Brown, Rich Hughes and Joe Spademan. They’re all dedicated to putting Canvas on as a labour of love and as a top notch service to the wonderful people of Liverpool and beyond..
The three of them kicked it all off back in February 07 when Rich Brown came up with the idea that was then driven forward with Rich & Joe.

Rich Brown
Rich is first point of call if you’re looking to get a gig and perform at Canvas, he’s also a Canvas resident DJ with a well-tuned ear for good music.
Rich Hughes
Rich MC’s Canvas as well as heading up and organising films that get shown at Canvas. So if you’re a film-maker give him a holler to get your hard work shown at a future Canvas event.
Joe Spademan
Joe spins a few records with Rich as well as putting together flyers and visuals (the pretty moving stuff on the plasma screens)
